I've allowed myself some latitude when I set out to take a picture a day. I think I have used this to find important decisions in places I didn't expect.
I publish once a day. This involves choosing which image I will tune to show well in the small frame. Then I drop that into the wiki page where there is a labeled spot waiting.

This photo for yesterday was taken the day before. It has some interesting geometry and maybe good color contrast. It hints at a decisive moment but this only shows as such when viewed with other March 19th Photos.
Every day I am looking for opportunities to capture an image that is on theme, consistent with others, and is somehow pleasing for myself. I snap two or three pictures with each opportunity and these show up about twice a day. I am happy to see a backlog appear early in the week.
Sunday, the first day for a new week of photos, is special in a very different way. I might take more quirky photos seeing if one suggests a theme. I also consider weather and travel and just my desire for novelty. Before the day is out I want to have articulated in a word the theme for the week.
I think I have reproduced the workflow for every photo editor operating on a publication schedule. What makes this fun for me is that I get to make all of the choices and will judge for myself if I have done good work.
